The body of the solenoid valve is made of brass. Brass is an alloy composed mainly of copper (Cu) and zinc (Zn). Brass body solenoid valves are electromechanical devices used to automatically control the flow of liquids and gases. They are the industry standard for general-purpose fluid automation due to their excellent machinability, structural strength, and cost-effectiveness compared to stainless steel.

The brass we use most commonly has the following chemical structure: see the photo.
